Putting up buildings is more than just a way to make a living. For us, providing shelter is one way we live as good neighbors—locally and globally. Robert Soens, Owner and President of Pinnacle Custom Builders, Inc. is privileged to contribute to a number of community efforts, both down the street and a little farther from home.

Here are some ways we’ve given back to the communities that have supported us.

  • Served as project committee chairman for Hands On Atlanta Day.
  • Founded The Decatur Ark Campaign, raising $20,000 for Heifer Project International.
  • Oversaw the redevelopment of Scottish Rite Hospital in Decatur, including the donation of the “Pinnacle Patio”.
  • Donated building services and funds to the Oakhurst Community Garden, Decatur BBQ Festival, and Decatur Home & Garden Tour.
  • Launched Decatur’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Weekend.
  • Board member, Decatur Preservation Alliance.
  • Named City of Decatur “Hometown Hero”, 2003.
  • Helping fund renovations to the May River Primary School in Enfield, Jamaica.
  • Helping City Schools of Decatur build an outdoor classroom for Oakhurst Elementary.
